I want to put my band forward for next year's Eurovision Song Contest. How do I apply?
Judging by recent years (2001 onwards), most of the people put forward are down-on-their luck actors turned singers or rejects from Pop Idol or Fame Academy. Most nominees are put forward to the BBC (as our represntative of the European Broadcasting Union) either by established songwriters who choose the artist they want to sing their song, or by record companies. If you're not on the books of a major record company or talent agency and aren't well known to the public then you haven't really got a snowballs chance in hell.





You need your fifteen minutes of fame and to get noticed on TV by the right people. Get in your application for Fame Academy, Pop Idol or the X-Factor now and you might stand a chance for 2010.

The European Broadcasting Union is not involved in their selection procedures, although requires transparant and fair national selections for the international competition. To make an inquiry for more information about representing one of the participating countries, to apply for participation or to submit a song,you are required to get in touch with the participating broadcaster of the respective country.
