OK, I know the Eurovision isn't a football thing, but this is my list of three pointlessly underwhelming things that I wouldn't care if they disappeared tomorrow.
Anyone else agree/disagree?
Is there any need for the UEFA Cup, Carling Cup or Eurovision Song Contest?
Don't knock Eurovision. It's the only chance we have of getting any points next season!!
Reply:the uefa cup was left for the lower down teams to experience the thrills of European football. The likes of man u and Chelsea will always be in the champions league. Other teams that dont have the financial support like the above need the chance to get the extra money, as that what its all about "money"
Reply:although i've been saying that the UEFA cup is for those who want to kid themselves, i also think that there's no harm to play in this competition...
firstly, it will help teams assess their strengths and weaknesses against continental teams...
second, opportunity to scout players... probably the next footballing genuises are playing in this comp...
third, although not huge, there's some monetary rewards playing in these comps...
Reply:i think uefa cup is a good competition, there are a lot of good teams in Europe who do not make the champs league, why shouldn't they get the chance to play each other if anything it is more exciting than the champs league, all the same teams playing each other it is becoming very predictable, i mean how many times do we have to endure Liverpool v CFC and the final is a repeat of 2 years ago. it is becoming as predictable as our own premiership.
Reply:eurovision can **** off for all i care and terry wogan for that matter as well. the uefa cup gives smaller teams the chance to compete in a european competition, i can only assume that you support a big club who qualifies for the champions league on a yearly basis. did you not watch the final last night? it was a fantastic match, the best i've seen a while. the carling cup may not mean much to you but to league 1+2 clubs the money they can make by playing the big boys can make a huge difference to their bank balance. and the winners get a place in europe!
Reply:I agree, boring boring.. but there are some people that love it unfortunately..... I really dont get the Eurovision song contest at ALL!! but it exists to make sponser companies richer.
