Why dont Scotland and Wales have songs in the Eurovision Song Contest?

Actually from next year Scotland COULD have an entry in Eurovision, as we approached them about that %26amp; they said there was nothing to stop us as technically speaking Scotland is part of the EBU. As I am sure other answeres have said, it is total rubbish, but makes for a great night to get absolutely rat arsed %26amp; laugh along with Terry Wogan as the political voting commences.

It's the fact that it is so rubbish %26amp; tacky that makes it compulsive viewing.

Why dont Scotland and Wales have songs in the Eurovision Song Contest?
scotland to tight to fund it WALES would win all hands down no contest
Reply:Because it's a British entry.
Reply:they have more sense!
Reply:Because the UK enters. Personally, I think it's a load of.. Well I won't go so far.

Scotland and Wales are SEPERATE countries, not England.
Reply:Because there's enough embarrassment with just the English entry..
Reply:cos the scottish and welsh can actually sing and wouldnt go for that drivel
Reply:Hiya!

If you watch the lead up show, you can see that they do choose from a selection of entrants from all over the uk.
