The political voting is an issue to be sure but Molitva won even among the Western European countries.
I think Andy Abraham is better than Scooch but it is not catchy (My Number One), forceful (Molitva), or humorous (Hard Rock Hallejulah.)
It might help if they entered in a very big name, had a Spice Girls reunion (Germany's trying that this year), etc.
Will the United Kingdom ever win Eurovision song contest again ?
To political and nobody cares except wogan who just tops up his pension fund,it is a joke.
Reply:Not with the way the votes are counted, the UK is very unpopular due to all the conflicts and wars we are involved in. The Baltic states have lots of votes against us.
Also as we keep entering rubbish, it doesn't help.
Reply:i really cant understand it
the calibre of song writers and artists we have in this country
and yet every year we wheel out these twonks that cant sing dance or perform at all
WHY??????????????
Reply:not until they get in 'proper' songwriters and artists in, but alot of them don't want to be associated with the contest cos its a big joke
Reply:Can't see it unless Cliff Richard goes in again or perhaps Leona Lewis. It's become all about political allies etc and not talent now. Hence, Lordi from Finland.
Reply:Does anyone really care?
Reply:I hope not.
Reply:No its all political voting now we have a turkey puppet representing Ireland this year . Whats the point
Reply:no the whole show is a joke.
Reply:not with the rubbish we keep entering with.
Reply:no when they vote on tv people just pick the rubbish bands that no one of sane mind will vote for so unless we threaten the rest of europe we wont
Reply:Not while Europe hates our Government and country
Reply:why wont a real star take a chance
Reply:No. Not even if John and George came back from the grave and reformed the Beatles and entered. It's all voting for your neighbours and mates these days. Who says that public voting is the fairest! It was fairer when a committee voted from each nation. Still, it's fun. It's great nobody votes for us and France and Germany. I hope that damn turkey puppet wins it! We won't.
Reply:i think there is a chance, if only the 'western' part of europe begins doing like 'eastern' europe does, ie, vote for the neighbours. but that's not really in the spirit of the cometition isnt it?
well, all the best for the uk... in the meantime, take a minute to view malta's entry this year:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wXVf3iBG...
song called vodka, by morena. it's the first time malta has not submitted a love song i guess!
Reply:Not unless we find someone who can sing....i agree that Cliff Richard would have to come back =) after all he knows how the business works bein' in it for over 50 yrs!
Why aren't the songs in their native lingo? No wonder tradition fades....everything is becoming samey!
