Do you agree with Sir Terry that Western Europe should not enter Eurovision Song Contest again? Reform poss.??

Wogan unhappy at UK Eurovision flop

Press Assoc. - 2 hours 56 minutes ago

Veteran Eurovision Song Contest commentator Sir Terry Wogan has cast doubt on whether he would be involved in covering the event again.

He said it was "no longer a music contest" and that prospects for Western European participants were "poor".

He spoke out near the end of his TV commentary after Britain's entry Andy Abraham had finished joint last of the 25 finalists.

Gotta be a good laugh, eh?

"The BBC has been deluged by millions of members of Yahoo Answers, so we are pleased to say..."

WHAT would they be pleased to say?

There's every chance that Tel has pulled a deliberate 'get 'em over a barrel' negotiation ploy, yes?

Would East EU wanna go on if West EU pulls out?

I think not - do you?

Tel needs TOG/TYGs

Has it EVER been a music contest????!!!
Reply:The trouble with the Eurovision Song Contest is that it has absolutely nothing to do with vocal talent and everything to do with politics. For example the reason that Russia got so many points was that all the former eastern bloc countries gave it maximum points. We won't get any decent points due to our activities in Afghanistan and Iraq. Because of that we could put the best singers in the world in the Eurovision %26amp; we still won't get any points!
Reply:No, I think Terry should pull out and we should get a new presenter. Andy Abrahams wasn't that Eurovision-esque compared to France's entry, for example (that was hilarious!).

I think we as a nation take ourselves too seriously when it comes to competitions like this. Next year put in someone who failed 'Britain's got talent' and we might just get somewhere....

Edit- Why, oh WHY is Israel still allowed to particpate? They aren't even in Europe.....
Reply:Yes I do agree. Its a joke the way they vote. If they want to vote like that make them pay for it. I'm not just saying this because the UK didn't win, none of the west countries got any sort of votes. I know its only a bit of fun but it must cost a fortune to put on to not have a chance at all of winning.
Reply:i think we should pull out. The uk fund the contest through bbc and i would love to see what would happen if we pulled out and stopped the funding. We dont get votes because we go through each yr even if we are last because they cant afford for us not to be in it
Reply:that's not the British spirit...pulling out just because we lose!! however...i'd like the public vote lark stopped...i think it should go back to the days when each country had a panel of judges %26amp; allocated the points that way...the public are biased!
Reply:The UK should pull out of the contest till there is a better and more fairer voting system....
Reply:we shudnt enter. Andy Abraham was sorta crap as well but we didnt lose because of him... WHY DIDN'T WE JUST PAY LEONA TO WIN IT FOR US?????
Reply:You must admit that he has a point.

He correctly guessed who everyone was going to vote for before they had actually started listing thier votes.

If Sir Terry goes then I won't watch it again. I think he makes it must see TV %26amp; without him it will just be another below average reality show.

Perhaps this is a sign that it has run its course %26amp; should be put to bed once %26amp; for all.

BTW. andy Abrahams deserved so much more than 14 points. He did really well with a song that was one of the strongest entries we have had for years. Poor guy must be gutted.
