What's the point of the Eurovision Song Contest anymore?

...now that we know people don't vote for thier favorite song anymore. The Balkan countries all vote for eachother making them winners every year.

What's the point of the Eurovision Song Contest anymore?
the point is that you fill ur saturday nights and the boring weekdays nights with something interesting fun and gripping,we don't care who wins,that's not the only point of the contest,just the feeiling that with you another 200 mill people from all around the world are watching this makes it even more exciting. and just to remind you last year's winner was finland with lordi!hello finland is not a balkan country,improve ur geography knowledge!turley is not a balkan country(2003 winner) denmark is not a balkan country(2000 winner) plzz the next time u wish to comment something think it twice...
Reply:Maybe the Balkan countries just play the best music, although I tend to prefer the songs that are shouted that tend to come from the Baltic countries. I think the eurovision song contest is great. The music is all wonderful and the personalities defy description. Sir Terry always does a wonderful job and it illustrates to the world how we can all get along together in a spirit of bonhommie. It shows that the nations have the maturity to laugh at themselves...I liked the Irish Turkey. Could you seriously imagine the Afrovision Song Contest would be so light hearted ?
Reply:Um last year the winner was Finland which is far from being a Balkan country. And people who make these remarks have no idea what they're talking about. In the end, the votes even themselves ot and the most popular song wins. That's why there actually IS a different winner every year.
Reply:I watch it every year simply because it is so funny to watch. Terry Wogan's little monologues make it superb.


It really makes no difference who wins because, lets face it, we never hear of any of the winning groups or songs again, do we?
Reply:There is no point anymore. I only watch it because of Terry Wogan and when he decides not to do it anymore I think thousands of viewers won't bother to watch.

Reply:I love watching The Eurovision Song Contest as you get to make fun of the country's which are bad. Terry Wogan is also really good at presenting it thats mainly why we watch it.
