Eurovision Song Contest - Why are the UK always losing?

I live in the UK and I am very disappointed that the UK are always losing in Eurovision Song Contest. I have talked to my step-mum about this and she said that the UK used to win sometimes when she was little. But why is there now a break-out of the UK always losing in the Eurovision Song Contest by coming last place?

I agree ! I liked andy's performance, even though it wasn't the best, I think the song had a catchy soul-funk tune and the performance with all the colors made me sure about that they at least would be a top ten- five.





Some say it's a political reason, because uk get into wars and stuff.





But hey, this is not this-country-is-the-best competition, it's ******* music.





ESC's not serious anymore actually, neigbouring countries votes for each other. Eastern eaurope wins on that scale.





I'm from sweden. We are also very suprised about our place, even though I didn't like our song that mutch, this is one of our worst ratings ever, and so was last year.





Russia won. It was okay.





Eastern countries wins novadays.


And they throw 12 on each other.





Why doesn't uk win s much as before? I also think it has to do with the language. Before contries were only allowed to sing in their own language. Therefore the english songs sounded better, because every country could understand them.





musically turkey was the best in my opinion.





Don't be disappointed about your country, UK's one of my favourite countries and you know music :)
Reply:The reason for this is that every contry votes politically rather than for who they actually like. Nowadays countries don't want to upset their neighbours by not voting for them. We used to win because countries actually voted for their favourites. It is only recently that UK have started to lose because of political voting :-( COME ON ANDY!

Reply:Personally i think other countries dont like us going to war ie yugoslavia,iraq so they dont vote for our song.The voting has got political now and countries vote for their neighbouring countries weather they like their song or not.Thats my personal thought anyway.
Reply:Because we live on an island and nobody would vote for us because of our links with the U%26gt;S, as far as I am concerned we should pull out of it, it's a waste of money
