Why dont they scrap the eurovision song contest ?

why dont they scrap the eurovision song contest the songs are rubbish and everyone votes for thier neighbours, they should scrap it and have a world song competition with judges.

They should, It's trash and it's all down to politicians.

Think at the very least they should put it on at a time when it doesnt screw up all the other programmes- all the normal saturday night stuff has been cut an for what?! a version of kareoke??





they should put it on insted of priminitsers question time or the queens speach or something, just to remind the people watching of where we really stand in the world in terms of popularity and polatics, and if they already know, why bother showing it?
Reply:I'm not sure that a world contest would work either, just because they don't seem to 'get' our style of music.





I do think there are tons of us that see the Eurovision as a guilty pleasure - but I hate the fact that its costing the UK so much money. And that we only get through to the final because we donate so much to the 'show'.





Having said that - I would be devastated if Sir Terry stopped doing the commentary, it for me is the whole reason I watch.
