bill tarmey is jack duckworth in coronation street, I believe he was in a group that were contestants in the eurovision song contest

I was sad enough to watch, but I don't remember spotting Bill.
Reply:He used to be a singer though not sure about the Eurovision contest.
Reply:I don't believe that he has entered Eurovision as an indivual artist. He might have entered as a group but cannot find any immediate evidence that he did.
Reply:Nope, you're mistaken there, I'm afraid.... prior to 1977 and Brotherhood of Man (and I know for a fact he wasn;t in anything since then) the UK had been represented by a group on only 3 occasions - The Shadows, the New Seekers and the Allisons, none of which featured Bill Tarmey

Reply:Bill Tarmey had a successful career as a singer, appearing with many bands at many venues. He gave up professional singing when he was offerred the part of Jack Duckworth in Coronation Street.


His rendition of " Wind beneath my wings" is in my opinion , one of the best ever recorded, especially when he sang it ti his wife ,Ali, on This is your life.


he did not however appear on Eurovision.
