Should UK pull out of the Eurovision Song Contest?

Its ridiculous that the eurovision song contest is now so political, and countries purely vote for neighbouring countries and do not vote in any connection with the song. The UK plug a lot of money into the competition so if they pulled out, the contest may not survive and we dont have to deal with losing every year because we are an island. Everyone in the competition speak and sing in English and is now becoming a joke

Should UK pull out of the Eurovision Song Contest?
I think we have already stayed longer than we should.

We clearly aren't welcome anymore. It might look pathetic if we pull out because it'll seem we're doing it we're not winning but at this point... very few people care. It's not that we aren't winning, it's the fact you can predict where the voting is coming from and less deserving acts gain points because of it! Everyone knows it's political voting and we pay for a majority of Eurovision even amoung the Big Four. There are lots of people who see it as a waste of time in this country, we can't win no matter how hard we try so it's wasting out time and money. I know it's the taking part that counts but there's no point in taking part if there is no chance you can win at all.

People watch the show to listen to Terry Wogan and laugh at the out-there acts that didn't deserve to be in the final of Europe's annual talentless-show. Wogan appears to be thinking of leaving - the BBC will lose a cut of the audience because who knows who they'll get as the commentator? They have to find one because no one will watch the presenters the country hosting it put up. Even in 1998 when we hosted Eurovision Wogan presented and commentated.

We aren't the only ones - the Germans have had enough too and they never really did brilliantly in Eurovision. Not like the UK or France. I wouldn't be surprised if France follow suit one day because they don't exactly light up the board anymore, do they?

If the other countries who vote for each other love it so much they won't object to paying for it themselves.
Reply:No we should not, it would be somewhat pathetic if we pull out simple because we are not winning.

We need to start voting for 'good' songs instead of the shite that the British Public vote for on Making Your Mind Up.

The voting procedures need to be changed to try and stop all the political voting. I think the UK and western European nations should demand it or tell the EBU they will start cutting back on the 10's of millions they contribute which actually allow for the event to take place.

The Song Contest is becoming a joke and needs to be addressed, if they do not then we should stay in but pull the funding and then see how quick the EBU change things.
Reply:YES Its distgusting they just dont like us I think they just vote for there neighbours and us at the of the score board Im watching it now we are at the bottom every year it pisses me off the talent of the other countries are so bad its hilarious
Reply:The only way we could ever win is if we let all the people from other countries come in, use our free health service, give them benefits and let them drain our economy.

Oh, we already do that?

Guess we can never win.
Reply:MASSIVE JOKE! And not funny anymore. You heard Terry Wogan - he's not doing it next year.

No point in watching now. The death of the UK Eurovision is nigh.
Reply:i dont think they should pull out, its a laugh,

its clearly all fixed and not down to the songs at all but its still a great show
Reply:yeah theres a lot of 'tactical' voting going on.

you should of seen last years entry. even we, the british public, dont take it seriously anymore
Reply:I hate eurovision so i dont care
Reply:They are the 2nd ones starting from the bottom..yes.
Reply:we're last now. I think we should put orselves out of our misery
