Eurovision song contest - now a waste of time?

The contest launched ABBA on the world - now what is wrong with the competition - its like joke music.

Put Benny and Bjorn in charge of the thing - that's what I say!

Eurovision song contest - now a waste of time?
It's a TOTAL waste of time - especially when the BBC in their wisdom take Dr. Who (BBC flagship programme) off to make way for this utter pile of steaming SHITE!!
Reply:For political reasons no country is going to vote for us. There isn't a country in Europe that the government hasn't dumped our troops in.
Reply:i think its time england called it a day
Reply:The ESC is now a complete waste of time, I reckon Sweden should cut their losses and opt out unless something radical is done.

It is ALL about politics. All the balkan/eastern countries patting each other on the back and voting for their neighbours, it's not about talent anymore.

It is absolutely ludacris, "Lordi - the swampmonsters" won last year, and this year Serbia singing a powerballad won. I mean... consistency? anyone? Not to mention does anyone see the political agenda behind the so called "voting" for the "best" song?

There is no voting for best song, it's all politics.

I agree with the question poster, put Björn and Benny in charge, or do SOMETHING. or alot of countries may end up pulling the plug because they are sick of the back patting.
Reply:It is a complete waste of time and money. It`s utter b0llocks.
Reply:Tell me about it. People can complain about how bad scooch were and blame it on them but at the end of the day, it doesnt matter whether we put a good or bad act forward, we still wont get any votes. We could have by far the best song in the contest but we still wouldnt have a chance of winning because its all so political these days
Reply:what competition we need to give it up before we lose face any more
